When Sarah and I first set up shop in 2011, we knew we wanted to do workshops. Why? Well, essentially for the same reason we wanted to create the store; Because creative new businesses were popping up all around us and craft markets were on everyones must-do list for the weekend. Handmade was so exciting, and we were so inspired by the creative community around us! We just wanted to be involved, and cultivate it any way we can.

This weekend was such a lovely reminder about all that we adore about what we do! A lovely bunch of women, gathering together, learning and creating together. That’s what it is all about, right!

Together with Rose Tinted Flowers, we hosted a two day extravaganza. We had floral cupcakes, iced tea on tap, and goodie bags for days.

I have quite a long history with flower crowns, but never with fresh flowers. I must say, I was quite surprised at how bad I was! I got several cuts and also suffered from total stage fright when it came to the bigger flowers. But, I must say, everyone made the most incredible flower crowns – In all three classes I did not see one dud! Perhaps you just can’t go wrong after you’ve chosen what flowers to use?

I was also surprised at how unique everyone crown was. None looked the same at all! Whether they were created to be asymmetrical, a headband, monochromatic, romantic, or wildly colourful.. everyones personalities showed through their designs.

Another thing I noticed about the fresh flower crown workshop, was how easily flowers make anything beautiful. Even my photography looks a thousand times better than usual! They made every outfit better. They styled the space all on their own. Long story short, I think I need a whole lot more flowers in my life. And I know exactly where I’ll be going to get them too!

We often get asked when our next event is, and because it is a crazy time of the year for the shop, we haven’t got anything booked in at this stage. But, if you would like to stay up to date with our workshops (and other events!), the best way would be to sign up to our newsletter.
